2018 End of the Year Dates

The end of the year is fast approaching. The 8th grade promotion ceremony will be Thursday May 24 at 7:00 PM in the big gym.  We ask that our 8th graders be here at 6:30 and come to the library to put on their gowns.

The ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes with a reception line to greet the students following the service. Please be advised of the following concerning the ceremony:

Attire: Please try to abide by the school dress code. Neatness and cleanliness are expected but there is no need to spend a lot on new clothes as the students will be wearing robes. Shorts should not be worn. Shoes will be visible so we prefer that students not wear tennis shoes. A comfortable casual shoe is recommended.

Seating: There is no reserve seating for this event.  We also ask that you do not bring noise-makers, whistles, and signs, to the ceremony.

About our school

The Lexington School District is located in and around a small rural community situated along Interstate #55, north of the twin cities of Bloomington and Normal. The city of Lexington has a population of approximately 2,100 people and is viewed as an up-and-coming community with small town values and big city amenities.  Approximately 500 students in grades PreK-12 are housed at one campus located in Lexington. Our school is rich in tradition in the classroom and on the athletic fields.  We are proud of the outstanding academic opportunities that we are able to offer our students, whether it is our small class sizes of at the elementary level, or the multiple dual-credit opportunities for our high school students. Recently named one of the Best High Schools by the US World and News Report, please contact us or stop by our school and see what it takes to become a Lexington Minutemen!
