Thank you Lexington Elementary families for participating in our coin drive for the United Way of McLean County last week. We raised $966.36 in coins! Congratulations to Miss Frank and Miss Denault for earning the privilege of kissing a pig! Thank you to Schuler Farms for providing us with the piglet and to Mr. Wiltz and our ag students for helping make this happen.

Construction Update: *We are excited to have confirmation of the pre-fabricated steel for our STEAM and GYM addition set over a period of multiple deliveries starting next Friday, March 15th and lasting throughout March. We apologize in advance for the potential for disruption to traffic and additional noise around school on these delivery days. With the arrival of the steel, we are very much looking forward to our project beginning to take shape with walls and roofs. **Starting next Monday, March 11, we will also begin the interior renovation phase of our project with the demolition and renovation of our JH/HS locker rooms. This project will create two renovated locker rooms with the new weight room, trainer's room, and coaches offices located in between. This fourteen week project is expected to be completed by the beginning of August, just in time for our fall sports programs and JH/HS physical education classes to be able to use next school year. We are "changing" it up this week with a coin collection for the United Way to support their McLean County programs. The staff pair with the most coins at the end of the week will have to kiss a pig!

Lexington School District Preschool Developmental Screening

Miss Benz's class is wearing red to celebrate one of their kindergarten classmates and all children with congenital heart defects. As you see red today for Valentine's Day, we encourage you to take a moment to think of these special children and their caregivers.

We are still glowing one month after our PTO Neon Night event in January. Thank you to our PTO volunteers for creating such a fun night for our students to enjoy!

Tonight was the end of an era for Lexington Girls Basketball. Bill Elias has selflessly served the student-athletes of Lexington Jr. / Sr. High School for the last 29 years as a coach; 11 of those being the Varsity Girls Coach and many years coaching both JH & JV. Thank you Bill!

⚠️🚨 Boys Basketball Schedule Update 🚨⚠️ The JV & Varsity Boys 🏀 game vs. LeRoy that was originally scheduled for 2/15 will now be played on Friday February 16. JV will tip-off at 5:30 with Varsity to follow. It’s also Senior Recognition for Boys Basketball & Cheer!

Every year the Heart of Illinois Conference hosts an Art Festival at Illinois State University. The festival includes a keynote address from a local artist, two art-making workshops taught by ISU art education students, and hosts an impressive exhibition of student work from across 13 HOIC schools. This year senior Regan Barrett earned best in 2D Mixed Media for her work titled "May" and Erin Lowery received an honorable mention for her work titled "West COASTER Burger." This exhibition has a virtual format (which can be found at https://hoicartfestival.weebly.com/2024-exhibition.html) as well as a physical exhibition of award winners and selected works at the ISU student gallery located in Julian Hall. The physical exhibition will be on display this year from Feb. 20th-March 1st.
